There are three ways you can help women living with fistula.
RAISE AWARENESS: We believe that change begins with consciousness. If the problem is unknown, there will be less efforts to address it. You can
begin by educating yourself and friends/families. Read through our site, do research, or order a copy of our film and host a screening in your community. Your personal investment in educating yourself about fistula and other
global women's health issues helps create a more informed society and your support of our film helps us to reach others across the U.S.
RAISE FUNDS: It only costs $300 to help a women living with fistula to get the repair she needs and be reintegrated into society. Use the film and advocacy packet to
host a screening and fundraiser in your community. While we do not raise funds directly for women living with fistula, our various sponsors accept tax-deductible donations in support of their various efforts to treat and prevent fistula. Click their logos
below or read about them in the About Us section of this site.
ADVOCATE FOR LEGISLATION: Representative Carolyn Maloney has introduced HR 2811 which would direct $34 million in funding for fistula prevention and treatment services to the United Nations Population Fund that
would help women around the world living with fistula. While many Americans know about the great work being done at the Addis Ababa Hospital in Ethiopia, there are many other
African and Asian countries that need resources to help identify, treat and reintegrate women who live with fistula. HR2811 would help get this funding to these countries. Therefore we
encourage you to WRITE YOUR OWN LETTER and send a copy of the Advocacy Video to your representatives. To find Congress members in your district, please use the tool below.
