Playground STHLM/Lekplats STHLM – a creative charity event for whole communities
January 18 in Stockholm, Sweden a new theatre event was introduced by us, producer Main Lundgren and producer/actress Sandra Andreis.
In no less than 36 hours, playwrights, directors, actors & musicians got together to write, rehearse and perform a show with Stockholm as
their sole inspiration. The guerilla style of working set out to bring back creativity to its most raw basics, forcing all the participants to
trust their impulses in order to give something back to the city. Their common mission being: To put on a show and to raise money for an organization that works creatively
to improve the city. All the profits from Playground STHLM were donated to Situation STHLM´s writing workshop, a free workshop for the homeless.
We´re proud to say that our creative experiment exceeded our expectations, raising 26 000 sek for the homeless cause. Participants as
well as audiences were elated by the show´s immediate and inspiring impact. The two sold out shows simply proved that every city should have a Playground
where artists get to collaborate and contribute to their community in more ways than one.
The Playground concept shows that boundries fuel creativity and theatre can be just as immediate and entertaining as television.
We believe in collaboration & the mixing of different medias in order
to strengthen communities. Artists, corporations &
non for profit organizations can join forces to help and inspire. We believe in more Playgrounds for the people!
